The Battle of Tucson
Location: Tucson, Arizona, America
Date: The 6th of October in the Year 2020 of our Lord. 1900 Hours.
Crowd: Arena full of screaming patriots
The Tucson Arena is packed. Fans are screaming. Those who choose to wear masks are wearing them. Those who wish to not feel the restrictive nature of a mask are maskless. This is America. People do as they please.
Red, white, and blue fireworks go off. A giant American Flag with the face of Chet Dakota drops from the ceiling, hanging over the entrance. The Freedom Screen turns on, featuring the face of Chet Dakota. An announcer speaks.
Announcer “Patriots. Please welcome the owner of Chet Dakota Wrestling – Chet Dakota!”
The Patriots go wild. Chet smiles on the Freedom Screen.
Chet Dakota “Fellow Patriots, I’d like to thank you all for attending the inaugural show of Fight for Freedom. Tonight we will begin the long, arduous journey toward making Pro Wrestling Great Again. We have three of the best matches you’ll find anywhere on the planet, and America. It will culminate in the Chet Dakota Wrestling Champion, Chet Dakota, defending his title against the comrade, commie malcontent, Max Stryker. Sit back and enjoy the show.”
The Freedom Screen switches to a montage of Patriotic images, including Truman dropping the bomb on Hiroshima.
Announcer “And now, before we get started with our first match, please help me in welcoming the General Manager of Chet Dakota Wrestling...Chet Dakota!”
Chet Dakota emerges on stage. His chin is held high. Some might speculate there are tears in his eyes, but we cannot be sure. We do know that his chest is swollen with pride. The crowd chants for the Pro Wrestling Legend. He affords them all the time they need to finish with their chanting.
Chet Dakota “Thank you. Your support means everything. It isn’t easy standing up for what you believe in. I’ve had my detractors since resurfacing in the pro wrestling industry. People have attempted to silence Chet Dakota, Pro Wrestling Legend. Yet, here I stand. If I folded in the face of every enemy I never would have won three medal of honors. The three hundred and twenty-six battles I helped win would have all been lost. And, Chet Dakota Wrestling would never have opened. But, here we are. As the General Manager of Chet Dakota Wrestling, I promise that you patriots will be treated with the greatest, fairest competition that this globe, and America can offer. So, sit back and enjoy the show, patriots. This is the beginning of something truly great.”
Chet Dakota heads to the back.
Announcer: And now it’s time for the inaugural match in Chet Dakota Wrestling. This match, like all others, will be a standard wrestling match conducted under traditional wrestling rules.
The patriots cheer in a very violent, pro American way.
Johnny Cash: And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts. And I looked, and behold: a pale horse. And his name, that sat on him, was Death. And Hell followed with him.
Cash's voice echoes through the arena before the arena lights cut out. The world slows until the rhythmic thud of "Grease Paint And Monkey Brains" by White Zombie blares from the P.A. system. Strobe lights dance around the intimidating stature of Krow, as he steps out before the crowd. He holds his arms outward in a cross position before embarking on the slow swagger down to the ring. The spotlight follows a methodical Krow, his tall, muscular frame navigating around the squared circle as it billows more dry ice from beneath the ring.
Krow leaps over the top rope and enters the ring, removing his leather vest and throwing it at the ring announcer. Krow climbs a ring post and hits a sinister crucifix pose to a crowd reaction.
Announcer “Krow McMannis!!!”
"Last Action Hero" by Tesla starts to play and Chip Donahue proudly makes his way out onto the stage. He looks out at all the American flags in the crowd and he is filled with overwhelming pride. He marches down the ramp to the beat of his epic theme song and then respectfully walks up the steps to wipe his feet on the apron before entering under the middle rope.
Announcer “Chip Donahue!!!”
Donahue and McMannis size one another up.
Announcer “And now, everyone, please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance”
A very heart warming version of the Pledge of Allegiance begins, narrated by Morgan Freeman. Krow McMannis and Chip Donahue stand next to each other. They whisper back and forth, joking around during the recital. It’s very distracting and not at all patriotic. Suddenly, “Air Force One Theme” hits, interrupting the Pledge. The patriots cheer violently. Chet Dakota makes his way down the ramp.
Announcer “It appears as though Chet Dakota, Pro Wrestling Legend, has something to say!”
Chet Dakota enters the ring.
Chet Dakota “Chip Donahue and Krow McMannis, I noticed you two cutting up during this nation’s Pledge of Allegiance. I cannot stand for such tomfoolery. As the most decorated soldier in American history, I understand the sacrifice people make on a daily basis to keep people like you free from oppression. It’s off the backs of those brave soldiers that the two of you ingrates are able to compete inside a professional wrestling ring. So, you’ll excuse me if I get a little hot around the collar when I see such blatant disregard for one of this country’s greatest traditions.”
The patriots in attendance agree with Chet Dakota, Pro Wrestling Legend.
Chet Dakota “I don’t allow people to disrespect the flag. I don’t allow people to talk down about this country’s leaders. I don’t put up with individuals mocking the military. And I darn sure won’t sit back and tolerate such a flippant attitude in the face of our nation’s Pledge of Allegiance.”
Chet Dakota, Pro Wrestling Legend, drops the mic. He grabs Krow McMannis and throws him out of the ring. He picks Chip Donahue up and throws him out of the ring. The patriots are going crazy.
Chet Dakota “Trash must be dealt with as such. Hopefully these two ingrates have learned a lesson or two about respecting this great nation and its traditions. They should be thankful I went easy on them. A few of my fellow veterans may not have been so gracious. This match has officially been cancelled due to a severe lack of patriotism. We will now progress with the show.”
Chet Dakota leaves the ring.
Announcer “Before we get to our second match this evening, a word from a supporter of Chet Dakota Wrestling.”
Godfather Giuseppe “Not only was I a pro wrestling Icon, but a ran the toughest gang south of Picadilly St. One day, after beating up a couple of cops, I ran into Chet Dakota. He demolished my entire gang. Before leaving, he gave me a copy of the US Constitution. I joined the Marines the next day. Chet Dakota saved my life. I am proud to say that I currently contribute to society in positive ways, rather than negative ones. I’d probably be lying face down, dead in a gutter somewhere had it not been for his providential guidance. I will do whatever I can to ensure Chet Dakota Wrestling is a success. God Bless you, Chet Dakota. You are a hero among heroes.”
Announcer “And now, our second match of the evening.”
The American Flag drops from the ceiling. Grand Ole Flag plays. Christopher America, with tears in his eyes, marches to the ring. Marches up the steps and enters through the red, white, and blue ropes. He prepares to honor his country with his in-ring service.
Announcer “Christopher America!!!”
Born in the U.S.A. hits the speakers as Captain Freedom along with his beautiful sidekick, Miss America, step out from the back waving proudly their American Flags. The good Captain and Miss America then head down the ramp, slapping the fans hands, and ruffling up the hair of little children before entering the ring. The Captain then stands in an 'at attention' stance and salutes the crowd as a large flag drops down from the scaffold with red, white, and blue pyros going off everywhere.
Announcer “Captain Freedom!!!”
Freedom and America stand in the center of the ring.
Announcer “Now, Please Rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.”
The Pledge is recited. Captain Freedom and Christopher America stare up at the American Flag with Chet Dakota’s Face stitched into it. The Pledge ends.
Announcer “And now, please rise for the National Anthem.”
The united voices of some of the armed forces finest singers belt out The National Anthem. This group of singers, known as ‘The Chet Dakota’s’ sing the greatest version of the National Anthem that’s ever been heard. America and Freedom continue to stare at the American Flag, featuring Chet Dakota’s image.
Announcer “Thank you. Now, the match may begin. Please, shake hands.”
America and Freedom shake hands. The bell dings. It is a patriotic contest featuring two men who are extraordinarily proud to compete in Chet Dakota Wrestling. Unfortunately, Christopher America’s stamina runs short during a critical juncture in the contest, allowing Captain Freedom the opportunity to beat him up and force him to submit via The Freedom Lock. The fans are very respectful in cheering for Captain Freedom but also showing compassion toward Christopher America and his sound defeat. Captain Freedom celebrates waving old glory in the ring while a shamed Christopher America swallows his pride and shakes Captain Freedom’s hand. It’s all very patriotic and a true show of sportsmanship.
Announcer “Your winner...Captain Freedom!!!”
Freedom is definitely ringing within the Tucson Arena this very evening.
Announcer “And now, before our main event, a word from another supporter.”
Female Wrestler 1 “As a female wrestling icon, I issued a challenge to Chet Dakota. He explained why he doesn’t fight women. I retired immediately and settled down to raise a family. Chet Dakota is my personal hero. Without him I would never have realized that a woman’s place is in the home, raising a family. That is the true measure of a female’s success. We were born to breed. Thank you, Chet Dakota. I look forward to watching a return to morality and a return to decency...a return to the true squared circle. I look forward to watching Chet Dakota Wrestling.”
Announcer “And now, our main event of the evening. It is for the Chet Dakota Wrestling Championship!”
The patriots are very excited. Max Stryker is booed heavily upon entering the Freedom Arena. Russia's anthem plays very loudly. Fans yell at him. He marches to the ring looking brave while on the inside we know he's nervous.
Announcer “The nefarious Max Stryker!!!”
The Air Force One Theme Plays. The Tucson Arena nearly explodes due to an extreme amount of patriotism. Chet Dakota, Pro Wrestling Legend, makes his way down the ramp with the CDW Championship over his shoulder. He enters into the ring, standing proud. Red, white, and blue pyro go off from each ring post. He stands with great composure, displaying a tremendous amount of presence. Max Stryker is seen mouthing the word ‘wow’ upon experiencing this truly historic moment.
Announcer “The Chet Dakota Wrestling Champion...Pro Wrestling Legend, Chet Dakota!!!”
Chet Dakota proudly hands the belt over to the announcer.
Announcer “And now, please rise for the Pledge of Allegiance.”
The Pledge is read aloud. Max Stryker does his best to look unmoved. But its clear the man is growing increasingly patriotic with each passing word.
Announcer “And now, please stand for the National Anthem.”
Again, Max Stryker tries to act like he doesn’t care, yet we catch him quietly singing along to the historic and patriotic words. Chet Dakota hasn’t moved an inch. His thousand yard stare reaches beyond the rafters, into the sky, greeting the souls of his deceased brothers in arms.
Announcer “And now, let the main event begin!”
The belt is held high. The bell dings. Max Stryker runs at Chet with the fury of a thousand animals. Chet Dakota scoops him up and slams him onto the mat. He covers Max Stryker for the 1! 2! 3!!! The crowd is very happy.
Announcer “Your winner and still Chet Dakota Wrestling Champion...Chet Dakota!!!”
Chet Dakota stands over Max Stryker, who has been knocked out cold from the body slam. Chet motions toward the back for help. Top notch military aids hit the ring to tend to Max Stryker. The fans are moved by Chet’s compassion toward his enemy. Chet Dakota, Pro Wrestling Legend, receives his title and holds it up high. The patriots cheer and clap and sing various American songs.
Announcer “Thank you all for attending the inaugural Fight for Freedom event. Thank you for witnessing the Battle of Tucson. We will see you at our next show!”
Fireworks go off in the night sky. Freedom lives on. Patriotism swells with pride. America feels great, once again. Chet Dakota Wrestling begins its march into the hearts and souls of Professional Wrestling.
